STREAMING: MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in US, on DAZN in Canada
The Philadelphia Union open their newly-renamed stadium when the San Jose Earthquakes come to Subaru Park trying to spoil the Union's home opener Saturday night.
The Union (0-1-1) are still in search of their first win, but return home following a spirited 3-3 draw against LAFC at Banc of California Stadium. The teams traded punches in a thrilling attacking affair with Sergio Santos, Jakob Glesnes and Brenden Aaronson giving the visitors a lead, only to have LAFC level each time through Carlos Vela, Diego Rossi and Eddie Segura.
The Earthquakes (0-1-1) only have a point to show from back-to-back home games to open the season, falling to Minnesota United 5-2 Saturday night. Magnus Eriksson leveled from the penalty spot six minutes after Ike Opara's opening goal, but the Loons ripped off three more first-half goals to take a 4-1 lead into the break. Vako pulled the Quakes back a goal in the 53rd minute, but Opara completed his second career brace in the 71st minute to put the finishing touches on the rout.
