Jeremy Ebobisse thumped in Dairon Asprilla's cross in the 88th minute and the Portland Timbers completed a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over the Seattle Sounders Wednesday night in the 2019 MLS Preseason presented by Advocare (watch match replay above and Ebobisse's goal below).
Diego Valeri converted on a penalty just before the break to equalize for Portland after Handwalla Bwana had given the Sounders the early lead in the teams' traditional preseason Cascadia Cup preview fixture.
Seattle felt aggrieved at the penalty called on Jordy Delem that may have occurred outside the 18.
However, Delem was rescued by VAR after appearing to concede another penalty on a second-half hand ball, with replays showing an offside violation by the Timbers prior to the sequence.
After mass substitutions from both sides, Ebobisse and Asprilla connected late to give the Timbers a third victory in as many preseason matches.
