Andrea Pirlo isn’t of this world.
New York City FC’s legendary Italian midfielder didn’t get himself on the scoresheet in NYCFC’s 4-3 win at Chicago on Sunday, but he did his best to try and help goalkeeper Josh Saunders stop David Accam’s 72nd-minute penalty kick, correctly pointing out where Accam would kick the ball during the Ghanaian’s run-up.
Saunders didn’t listen to Pirlo, diving the wrong way as Accam slotted home inside the right post. He should listen to Andrea next time – this, after all, was the second time he’s pulled something like this since joining NYCFC.
