It's been a pretty good year or so for Raheem Sterling.
The attacker helped guide England to the World Cup semifinals, has won back-to-back league titles with Manchester City as well as an FA Cup and League Cup this season. But it's never to early to have one eye on your future.
Sterling, 24, on Wednesday admitted he hopes to play in MLS one day.
"This is a country I would, one day, love to be able to come to," Sterling said at a Wall Street Journal conference in New York, via ESPN. "Your weather is a lot better than ours. Hopefully one day I can have my family over here."
Sterling has noticed the dramatic growth of soccer in the United States.
"English football has grown massively over here. It wasn't like that in the past, and it'll continue to get bigger," Sterling said. I was surprised even just popping out to the shops and being recognized by one or two people. I didn't expect that over here."
The Englishman netted 25 goals and 17 assists across all competitions this season. He has 69 goals and 65 assists in 191 appearances with Manchester City, whom he joined in 2015 after starting his senior career with Liverpool.
Sterling is one of the most valuable players in the world, currently valued at £108 million ($136.7 million) according to Transfermarkt, the ninth-highest on the website.
