TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Report
Orlando City SC and FC Dallas are both in pursuit of Benfica and Argentina national team winger Franco Cervi, according to a report from Portugal-based reporter Bruno Andrade.
Andrade outlines that Cervi is most likely to end up in Orlando, though Dallas are also in contention. According to his report in Portuguese sports newspaper A Bola, the 26-year-old could arrive in MLS via a direct transfer or loan with an option to buy.
Cervi, 26, predominantly plays on the left and has been part of two Primeira Liga-winning teams at Benfica. During 156 appearances for The Eagles, he has 20 goals and 26 assists across all competitions. However, Cervi has fallen down the pecking order since manager Jorge Jesus returned to Benfica in July 2020.
Cervi has earned four caps for Argentina (all occurred in 2018) and one goal for La Albiceleste, scoring in a friendly against Iraq. Before moving to Benfica, Cervi emerged at Rosario Central in his home country, totaling seven goals and 11 assists in 52 games.
