TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Report

Interest from Europe continues in D.C. United defensive midfielder Chris Durkin, though the club are unlikely to sell before the beginning of the next season, The Washington Post's Steven Goff reports.

The clubs currently interested in the 18-year-old US youth international's services have not been named. Goff cited previous bids made by German club Hannover SV and Portuguese giant Benfica.

Durkin made 23 appearances — including 16 starts — in his first MLS season in 2018. Down the stretch, he was primarily a bench player behind Russell Canouse and Junior Moreno, though he started when Moreno was away on international duty for Venezuela.

It is possible Durkin's price could continue to go up as a result of his performances at the upcoming 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup next May and June, when he is expected to be a part of the US squad, should they qualify.
