TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Report
FC Dallas may be in the market for another winger to add to their roster, with a report out of Hungary linking the team to Szabolcs Schon of MTK Budapest.
Hungarian outlet Nemzeti Sport reports that a deal between Dallas and MTK is likely and is expected to be announced during the March international break, although details remain to be finalized. The reported transfer fee would be €1.2 million, about $1.46 million, a fee that could go up through performance-related incentives. MTK would also likely acquire a percentage of any future transfers.
Per the report, Schon would join Dallas in May, as MTK would like him to complete the 2020-21 Nemzeti Bajnoksag I season. MTK are currently fourth in the table, and remain in contention for a European berth.
The 20-year-old has been with MTK since 2019, and has played 36 matches for the club during his two year stint. He was previously with the Ajax academy from 2017 to 2019 and made one appearance for Jong Ajax before joining MTK. He has also represented Hungary at various youth levels, up to and including U-21.
Dallas have already added two wingers to their roster this offseason, in Jader Obrian and Freddy Vargas, but also saw three depart the club, in Fafa Picault, Michael Barrios and Santiago Mosquera.
