TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
After a brief move to the Portland Timbers' USL side, Honduran forward Darixon Vuelto could be returning to MLS, this time to the Houston Dynamo.
The speedy 22-year-old is out of contract with Real Espana and told Honduran outlet Diez.hn the Dynamo are one of three teams expressing interesting in signing him.
“The Houston Dynamo has always been asking for me, to see what happens in the end,” he said. “Would it come to replace Alberth Elis? It could be, but as I say, we are waiting. I have to be ready.”
Elis, who has long been the subject of transfer rumors, has said it is his dream to compete in Europe.
This isn’t the first time the Dynamo have been linked with Vuelto. Two years ago, they were among five MLS squads expressing interest, but at the time Houston did not hold discovery rights.
Vuelto signed with the Portland Timbers’ USL side, but opted to return to Honduras for a second loan stint with Real Espana after nine appearances with T2. He also featured for Portland in a US Open Cup Fourth Round win over the San Jose Earthquakes in 2018, playing two minutes off the bench.
Vuelto made his debut for the Honduran national team in a Concacaf Nations League A match against Martinique last November.
Should Vuelto land at the Dynamo, he’d join fellow Hondurans Elis, Maynor Figueroa and Boniek Garcia on Tab Ramos’ side.
