Zlatan Ibrahimovic claps on MLS debut - March 31, 2018

Before signing with the LA Galaxy, Swedish legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic had reasons to mull an offer from the Chinese Super League — 100 million reasons.

A report by SI.com citing LA Galaxy technical director Jovan Kirovski, that was the multiyear offer on the table for $100 million from China

Instead, Ibrahimovic will reportedly be paid $3 million over two years as a Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) acquisition since the LA Galaxy’s Designated Player slots were already filled by Romain Alessandrini, Giovani dos Santos and Jonathan dos Santos.

Kirovski said he had a six meetings with Ibrahimovic in Europe and another in Los Angeles before an agreement was made in principle four months ago.

‘But until it’s signed, anything can happen,” Kirovski said. “When he signed officially was two weeks ago. Then you can breathe again.”
