TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Rumor
The summer transfer window is just around the corner, and one of MLS's top players has once again been linked with a move across the Atlantic.
According to a report from The Athletic's David Amoyal, Italian side Fiorentina are eyeing Miguel Almiron. The Atlanta United midfielder was named as a potential replacement for the Italian squad's Federico Chiesa, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City in this summer's transfer window.
It's the latest rumor involving the gifted 24-year-old Paraguayan international, who has been linked to the likes of AC Milan, Arsenal, Inter Milan, and Newcastle United over the past year.
Last year, Fiorentina finished eighth in the table – meaning it's a destination that would be without European football in the coming season.
Almiron, the 2017 MLS Newcomer of the Year, has followed up his impressive debut season in the leauge with an MVP-worthy start to 2018, with six goals and six assists across 15 appearances (all starts) so far. He and Atlanta United are in action on Wednesday night at Columbus (7:30 pm ET | Full TV & streaming info).
