Matías Pérez García is starting to turn it on for the San Jose Earthquakes, and his latest exploits were on display last Saturday in Seattle.
His mazy run and pinpoint, curling finish has won him AT&T Goal of the Week honors for Week 16. The versatile attacker saw his goal just barely beat a sterling header from Montreal Impact defender Donny Toia.
Pérez García garnered 29.6 percent of the vote, just 1.45 percentage points more than Toia's. The LA Galaxy's Gyasi Zardes finished third with 19 percent, Pérez García's teammate Sanna Nyassi saw his goal finish fourth with 13.9 percent of the vote, and Dillon Serna of the Colorado Rapids saw his goal come in fifth with 9.35 percent of the vote.
