Brad Guzan's challenge on Khiry Shelton was the pivotal moment of Sporting Kansas City's 2-0 win over Atlanta United on Wednesday, as the goalkeeper earned a straight red card for upending the speedy striker as he raced in on goal in the 34th minute of play.
Guzan's ejection forced the Five Stripes to throw rookie goalkeeper Paul Christensen into the fire, and eventually led to their first home loss of 2018.
