The Portland Timbers and the Colorado Rapids squared off in the coldest game in MLS regular season and postseason history on Saturday, with a temperature at kickoff of 18 degrees and snow accumulating throughout the match.
The match ended in a dramatic 3-3 draw after a late goal for 10-man Colorado.
Previously, the coldest temperature on record was 19 degrees for two matches between Minnesota United FC and Atlanta United FC at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn., on March 12, 2017 and then on March 31, 2018.
