Krisztian Nemeth's time in Kansas City has come to a close.
Sporting Kansas City announced on Friday the forward will be transferred to Al-Gharafa SC of the Qatar Stars League, pending a physical.
“We wish Krisztian the best of luck and thank him for his valuable contributions to the club,” Sporting KC manager Peter Vermes said in a team statement. “He is a talented player who made tremendous strides last year, including helping us win the US Open Cup.”
Nemeth spent one season with Sporting, winning not just the Open Cup but also MLS Goal of the Year and Sporting KC's Newcomer of the Year awards in 2015. The Hungarian international, who also helped his country qualify for this summer's European Championship, scored 10 goals and six assists in league play, making 28 appearances during the MLS regular season.
