After he was cut from Jurgen Klinsmann's World Cup squad, Landon Donovan returned to MLS with one goal in mind: to prove he's still got it. On Saturday, he finally scored his 135th MLS regular-season goal and passed Jeff Cunningham as the all-time leading goalscorer in MLS history. He then added a second goal for good measure.
His partner up top, Robbie Keane, also put his name on this week's squad with a goal and two assists. The two helped LA obliterate the Union 4-1.
Shane O'Neill scored his first MLS goal and was sound in the back to help the Rapids snap their two-game losing skid, by beating the Impact 4-1.

GK: Jon Busch (San Jose Earthquakes) – Came up big for the Quakes, especially early to prevent the Dynamo from an taking initial lead and helping them beat Houston 3-0.
D: Chris Duvall (New York Red Bulls) – Showed exceedingly well in his first professional start but was unable to keep the Timbers off the scoresheet in his team's 2-1 loss.
D: Matt Hedges (FC Dallas) – Helped disrupt RSL in the box by not allowing the hosts to flood the area with runs. He also kept his concentration for the full 90 minutes to help Dallas earn their first clean sheet of the season in their draw on Saturday night.
D: Shane O'Neill (Colorado Rapids) – Scored a golazo but was also very strong and steady in central defense in the Rapids' 4-1 victory over the Impact.
D: Tony Beltran (Real Salt Lake) – Helped keep Fabián Castillo quiet for most of the night, and had some timely interventions to prevent Dallas from getting good shots in his team's home draw.
M: Gershon Koffie (Vancouver Whitecaps) – Scored one goal and went an inch away from scoring another in Vancouver's 2-2 draw with Seattle. Was a force of nature in central midfield, pushing forward to start wave after wave of 'Caps attacks.
M: Federico Higuaín (Columbus Crew) – Was on point again this week, this time setting up both goals with outstanding passes in the Crew's 2-0 win over the Fire
M: Dillon Powers (Colorado Rapids) – Played like a metronome in midfield and netted two, showing that when he's on song, Colorado become very tough to beat.
M: Diego Fagundez (New England Revolution) – The teenager is on fire, scoring his fourth goal in three games in the Revolution's 2-1 win over D.C. United.
F: Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy) – His partnership with Donovan on the night was lethal, allowing the Galaxy to take control in the game from the start on Sunday. Also had a goal against FC Dallas in midweek.
F: Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy) – Made history and did it in style with a brace and an assist in the Galaxy's 4-1 thrashing of the Union.
Coach: Bruce Arena (LA Galaxy) - Welcomed the return of his star striker and got him back to his goalscoring ways. This came after a convincing 2-1 win over FC Dallas on Wednesday night.
