The US U-20 men's national team continued their perfect start to the Concacaf U-20 Championship on Wednesday, scoring all six of their goals in the second half of a 6-0 win over St. Vincent and the Grenadines at IMG Academy Stadium in Bradenton, Florida.
Despite a commanding first-half advantage in shots on target (10-1), the US were unable to find the back of the net before halftime. That quickly changed in the second 45 minutes. Just 30 seconds after the half began, captain Juan Pablo Torres ripped a low shot from the top of the box into the bottom-right corner of the net to open the scoring. Ulysses Llanez would follow suit in the 59th minute, with the LA Galaxy academy product finishing a well-worked set piece past second-half substitute goalkeeper Jellando John.
Philadelphia Union Homegrown Anthony Fontana's second-half hat trick (66', 81', 86') put the game out of reach.
The US remain atop Group A with a perfect 12 points through four games. They'll play their final game of the group stage this Friday, Nov. 9 at 5:30 pm ET against second-place Suriname (9 pts.). A win or draw ensures advancement, but even a loss can see the US through thanks to a large lead in goal differential (30 to 13).
