The US national team and Mexico will write the latest chapter in their rivalry on April 15, and will do so in front of an anticpated sold-out crowd of 65,000 at San Antonio's Alamodome, US Soccer announced Wednesday. The match will be televised live on FOX Sports 1, UniMas and Univision Deportes Network.

Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, Jan. 30, at 11 am ET through ussoccer.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 and at all Ticketmaster ticket centers throughout San Antonio, as well as the Alamodome ticket office (open Monday-Friday, 10 am to 5 pm CT).

“If you compare it to the response when we had Mexico and Korea back in January [2014] on a Wednesday night, and we had 54,000 people, so we expect to sell out the facility,” Alamodome general manager Nick Langella told MySanAntonio.com.  ”April 15 is right around Fiesta. We just think it’s going to be a tremendous turnout.  We’re getting calls already.”

The match falls outside the FIFA international calender, meaning that players are not required to be released by their clubs. With more and more US regulars plying their trade in MLS, head coach Jurgen Klinsmann could still possibly field a strong squad.

The home game will be part of a busy 2015 slate for the US, who will also face Chile (Jan. 28), Panama (Feb. 8), Denmark (March 25), Switzerland (March 31), Netherlands (June 5), and Germany (June 10) before the CONCACAF Gold Cup, set to take place from July 7-26.

Though Mexico have played in San Antonio before, this will be the USMNT's first game in the city – they were close to playing in San Antonio last September, but a proposed friendly with Colombia failed to materialize.

The Americans last faced Mexico in April 2014, playing to a 2-2 draw in a friendly in Glendale, Arizona.
