TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
The Vancouver Whitecaps have signed right back Scott Sutter, the club announced Wednesday. Suter most recently played for Orlando City SC.
Sutter, 32, made 51 appearances across two seasons for Orlando after joining from Swiss side Young Boys. He had 4 goals and 6 assists during his time in Orlando, though the club declined his option following the 2018 season.
“Scott brings a lot of experience from his time in Switzerland, as well as his last two seasons in Orlando,” Whitecaps head coach Marc Dos Santos said in a statement. “Scott is a competitor and we are happy to have him join our club. He will be a great addition to our young locker room.”
Sutter spent the entirity of his career in Switzlerand before joining MLS, making 258 Super League appearnaces for Young Boys, Grasshopper and FC Zurich.
The Whitecaps have been busy of late, as Sutter joins recent additions Derek Cornelius, Jon Erice, Lass Bangoura and Lucas Venuto.
