Veteran Kei Kamara tops MLS list by scoring goals for eight different teams

Kei Kamara goal celebration vs. FC Cincy

On Saturday night at Allianz Field, when Kei Kamara scored from the penalty spot to give Minnesota United a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute against FC Cincinnati, the veteran striker made another mark on the MLS history books.

The well-traveled 36-year-old scored his 130th career MLS goal, which places him three away from Jaime Moreno, who is fourth on the all-time list. Kamara has scored those 130 goals for eight different teams, the Loons obviously the most recent, which extends his MLS record.

Before Saturday's tally with Minnesota, Kamara's goals came across stints with Columbus Crew SC (32 goals), San Jose Earthquakes (2), Houston Dynamo (7), Sporting KC (38), New England Revolution (19), Vancouver Whitecaps (14), and Colorado Rapids (17).

He’s pulled away from the group of seven who had scored for six different teams with Alejandro Moreno, Dominic Oduro, Andy Williams, Sebastian Le Toux, Chad Barrett, Alan Gordon and Atiba Harris accomplishing the feat.
