Don't look now, but the full debut of FIFA 14 is only a little more than a month away. And on Tuesday, at gamescom in Cologne, Germany, FIFA franchise producer EA Sports made a handful of big announcements regarding the game's latest installment, set to hit stores in North America on September 24.
This unveiling also included another new gameplay trailer (above), which included the first official glimpse of Clint Dempsey as a Seattle Sounders player, and the announcement of the following new features to FIFA 14:
- Additional South American leagues (Argentina and Chile) and teams (additional Brazilian teams), as well as other licensed leagues and/or teams still to be announced, will be added to FIFA 14, bringing the total to 33 leagues, more than 600 clubs and more than 16,000 players.
- The demo for FIFA 14 will become available to download on September 10 — the same day as the USMNT vs. Mexico game in Columbus — so just go ahead and take that entire Tuesday off from work right now.
- FIFA 14 Ultimate Team Legends, only on Xbox, including Ruud Gullit, Freddie Ljungberg, Fabio Cannavaro, Gary Neville, Michael Owen, Pelé, Andriy Shevchenko, Edwin van der Sar, Patrick Vieira and many more. No Diego Maradona on the list? That's surely not because he's a crazy person, is it?
