AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 16
A pair of counterattacking goals, a wonderful flicked header, a late equalizer and a thumping volley have been nominated for Week 16 MLS AT&T Goal of the Week, now it’s time for you to choose your favorite.
LA Galaxy Homegrown Gyasi Zardes is the highest-profile player in the running, with his powerful counterattacking goal in LA’s 5-1 win against Philadelphia nominated for the honors. He’s joined by two other academy products, with Colorado Rapids Homegrown Dillon Serna up for his late equalizer against FC Dallas and Montreal defender Donny Toia – himself a former Real Salt Lake Homegrown – nominated for his brilliant headed goal against Orlando.
A pair of San Jose Earthquakes round out the field, with winger Sanna Nyassi nominated for his booming volley and Matias Perez Garcia in the running for his mazy run and curled finish in the Quakes’ 2-0 win at Seattle.
Serna is the only nominee to have won a Goal of the Week award already in 2015, with the midfielder taking home the Week 6 honors for a long-range bomb against FC Dallas.
Which goal was your favorite? Vote now – the winner will be announced on Friday.
Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners – click here.
