After a slow start to the season in terms of goal scoring, with just 16 scored across 10 games in Week 1, the second week of the MLS season brought the offense.
Although only eight games were played, 25 goals were scored in Week 2, highlighted by the three late games on Saturday combining for 15 goals between them.
Week 2 brought the quality as well, and now it's your chance to pick from the week's best to choose the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week.
What's on the menu? Well, Designated Players Innocent Emeghara (San Jose Earthquakes), David Villa (New York City FC) and Fanendo Adi (Portland Timbers) each brought his own version of combination play and a curling finish, with Emeghara and Villa providing game-winners.
Adi would have joined them in the game-winning goal club, but the LA Galaxy's Alan Gordon came up with a stoppage-time header to steal the result away from Portland, so maybe his strike was your favorite this week.
Finally, the FC Dallas move that concluded with Fabián Castillo's clinching goal against Sporting Kansas City continues a trend of excellent buildup. In this instance, Michel and Ryan Hollingshead provided decisive passes to put Castillo in on goal.
So which was your favorite from Week 2? Vote now, and the winner will be announced on Friday on the basis of your online votes.
Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week — including an archive of all of this season's nominees and winners — click here.
