Vancouver Whitecaps announced Friday afternoon that forward Kekuta Mannehunderwent surgery Friday morning to repair a broken fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot. The team did not give a timetable for his return to action, though head coach Carl Robinson indicated he could be back with the team this season.
“Kekuta is an important member of the club and we’re happy to hear the surgery went well,” Robinson said. “We anticipate he will make a complete recovery and will be back training with the group in the fall."
