MLS Experience
2019: In his second season with the Black- and-Red, Mora made 20 appearances (18 starts) for the Black-and-Red. The defender began the season with a string of impressive performances before fracturing his jaw during the match against Orlando City on March 31. After missing nearly three months, Mora returned for United and picked up where he left off. The Costa Rican continued to produce strong defensive displays finishing the season with 41 tackles while playing every minute of D.C. United’s record breaking clean sheet streak to end the season. The 26-year-old showcased his ability to get forward and put dangerous crosses into the box as he created 15 chances and provided an assist against the New York Red Bulls on Aug. 21.
2018: In his first year with D.C. United, Mora proved to be a valuable member of the backline for the Black-and-Red. The Costa Rican made 30 appearances (28 starts), ranking third on the team for regular season games played. The defender tallied his first assist for the Black-and-Red on May 26 against LAFC; he added another assist against Minnesota United on Sept. 12. The Costa Rican played in United’s final 21 matches in a stretch that saw the team go 12-4-5. Mora finished the 2018 season ranked third in minutes played with 2,523 and led the team in tackles with 64.
2011-2017 (Costa Rica): Mora started his professional career with Guadalupe FC in the Costa Rican top division. In two stints with the club (2011-2012, 2013-2015), he made 61 appearances for Guadalupe, scoring one goal and recording an assist. He Spent the 2012/2013 season with CS Uruguay de Coronado and made 11 appearances for the club. Deportivo Saprissa signed Mora on Feb. 5, 2015 and went on to make 83 appearances for the Costa Rican club, scoring one goal and recording two assists.

International Experience
Joseph Mora competed for Costa Rica at the youth levels before making his senior debut on Nov. 17, 2018 in a 3-2 victory over Chile. The defender has now made four appearances, all in international friendlies for Costa Rica.
