Professional Career
2021 Real Salt Lake: Began the season on a hot streak, registering two goals and two assists in the first two matches of the season. His first goals came in the RSL home opener on May 1. Finished the season with eight goals and five assists while featuring in every match during the regular season. Scored the two goals - including the game-winning goal - against SJ on September 15.
2020 San Diego Loyal: Rubin made headlines in the United Soccer League with the San Diego Loyal where he scored seven goals in just five matches.
2019 Dorados (Mexico): After being loaned to club-affiliate Dorados in 2019, Rubin spent time in the second-tier of Mexican soccer where he scored seven goals in 42 matches.2018 Tijuana (Mexico): Rubin spent 2018 with Club Tijuana in Mexico’s Liga MX. During his run with the Xolos, Rubin appeared in 21 matches and scored one goal.2017 Stabæk (Norway): The Oregon-native signed with Danish side Silkeborg IF in 2017 before joining Stabæk in Norway for the remainder of the season.
2015-2016 FC Utrecht (Netherlands): In his second year at the club, Rubin played in eleven matches for the first team in the Dutch Eredivisie, scoring one goal and adding two assists.. Rubin spent most of the season with the FC Utrecht U-21 where he started all nine of his appearances and recorded five goals and three assists in 776 minutes.
2014 FC Utrecht (Netherlands): Rubin made his professional debut for FC Utrecht as a starter and recorded an assist in a 2-1 victory over Willem II on August 17, 2014. His first professional goal came on November 29 in a 5-1 win against NAC Breda. He finished his first year with the club with 23 starts in 30 appearances while tallying three goals and six assists.
International Career (USA)
2014-2015: Rubin was named to the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup squad, where he teamed with former RSL forward Jordan Allen. He made his U.S. senior team debut on November 14, 2014 and made seven total appearances at the top level, including matches against Bolivia, Columbia, Denmark, Ireland and Paraguay.
2011-2013: Rubin made his debut with the U.S. U-17s on November 30, 2011 and went on to score 11 goals in 25 appearances for the squad. Named the 2012 U.S. Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year, Rubin earned time with the U.S. U-18s and U-20s and scored a total of 11 goals in 27 appearances between the two clubs.
