They’re already calling it “The Save” in some quarters.
So perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised that Vancouver Whitecaps goalkeeper David Ousted’s jaw-dropping block on Andrew Wenger has won MLS Save of the Week honors by a comfortable margin this week, outpacing Real Salt Lake’s Nick Rimando to take the top spot in Week 10 voting.
Ousted’s instinctive, sprawling, one-handed stop earned nearly half of all ballots cast, while Rimando finished a hair under 32 percent, followed by a trailing pack of Evan Bush, David Bingham and Josh Saunders.
2015 MLS Save of the Week - Week 8 final vote
1. David Ousted (VAN) 49.55%
2. Nick Rimando (RSL) 31.88%
3. Evan Bush (MTL) 11.35%
4. David Bingham (SJ) 4.47%
5. Josh Saunders (NYC) 2.75%
