While a handful of MLS teams begin competition in the 2019 Concacaf Champions League, many others will play their penultimate matches of the preseason.
Here's a look at a busy Wednesday preseason slate.
FC Dallas vs. Real Salt Late (2 pm ET | Watch)
Striker Dominique Badji already has four goals already this month as he prepares for potentially his first complete season with FC Dallas. Real Salt Lake are facing fellow MLS opposition for the first time this preseason.
Club Tijuana vs. Vancouver Whitecaps (4 pm ET )
Inbeom Hwang could see his first game action when the Caps take on the Liga MX outfit in Carson, California. Xolos are likely to field a reserve side given their Copa MX tilt against Pachuca at home the night before.
New York City FC vs. Minnesota United (4:30 pm ET)
The Cityzens are winless in four previous preseason meetings against MLS opposition. Meanwhile, the Loons are unbeaten during their preparation despite scoring once in their last three preseason outings.
Charleston Battery vs. Columbus Crew SC (5 pm ET | Watch)
While Crew SC may have two preseason games remaining, this one may feel like the last, with the potential for heightened intensity on Saturday when they face in-state rivals FC Cincinnati.
New York Red Bulls vs. FC Tucson (5 pm ET | Watch)
It should be a largely USL-based squad that takes the field for the Red Bulls while the first team plays in CCL action in the Dominican Republic later that night.
D.C. United vs. Philadelphia Union (7 pm ET | Watch)
Luciano Acosta has responded gamely to the reported breakdown of a move to Paris St. Germain, having created D.C.'s last two preseason goals. He'll get his first look at Philly's new playmaker, Marco Fabian.
Tampa Bay Rowdies vs. Montreal Impact (7 pm ET | Watch)
Maxi Urruti scored his first goal with Montreal in their last preseason outing, a 1-0 victory over Philadelphia last weekend.
FC Cincinnati vs. Chicago Fire (7:30 pm ET | Watch)
Cincinnati have been tinkering with a 3-4-3 setup and will continue to do so Wednesday. Aleksandar Katai has been involved in Chicago's last two preseason goals, setting up one and scoring the other.
Orlando City SC vs. New England Revolution (7:30 pm ET)
Just a day after his official introduction, Nani could see his first competitive moments in purple when the Lions welcome the Revs.
Portland Timbers vs. Phoenix Rising FC (8 pm ET)
The Timbers are reported to be pursuing multiple avenues to add a forward, but have had no problem scoring this preseason, finding the net multiple times in each preseason game.
Seattle Sounders vs. Nacional (10:30 pm ET | JoeTV, YoutubeTV)
The Sounders' friendly against one of Uruguay's "big two" will be extra special for talisman Nicolas Lodeiro, who broke into the pros through Nacional's youth system.
