Career Summary

Out of contract following 2017 season.

A world football icon, Kaká is also one of the elite MLS players, having scored more than 20 goals and assisting on more than 15 in 50-plus game for Orlando City. 

OUTSIDE MLS: Kaká is one of the most decorated players of his era, a former FIFA World Player of the Year and UEFA Champions League scoring champion. He began career with São Paulo from 2001-03, joined AC Milan that year and was nominated for the FIFA World Player of the Year award in his first season while winning what proved to be his only Serie A title. He was voted top midfielder of the 2004-05 UEFA Champions League, despite AC Milan losing to Liverpool on penalty kicks in the final. He scored 10 goals in the 2006-07 UEFA Champions League to lead the competition and win his first title as AC Milan beat Liverpool in the final, and as a result was named 2006-07 UEFA Club Footballer of the Year and 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year. He moved to Real Madrid prior in 2009 and helped them to the 2011-12 La Liga title.

INTERNATIONAL:  A 2002 FIFA World Cup champion and two-time Confederations Cup champion, Kaka was named to the Brazilian World Cup roster in 2002, 2006 and 2010 and won Confederations Cup with Brazil in 2005 and 2009. He also participated in 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup as captain of Brazil's Under-23 national team to reach the final, scoring both goals in the quarterfinal win over Colombia and an 89th-minute game-tying goal in 2-1 overtime semifinal win over the U.S. He won the player of the tournament in the 2009 Confederations Cup.
