With Atlanta United battling to a hard-fought 2-1 victory in Tuesday's U.S. Open Cup final, there were bound to be a couple players rotated for Saturday's top-of-the-table meeting in Philadelphia. Now we know Ezequiel Barco will be one of them.
The 20-year-old Argentine came out after 70 minutes in Atlanta's triumph, and on Thursday it was revealed an injury may have played a role in the substitution, according to reports out of Atlanta on Thursday.
It's Barco's second injury setback of the season after a knee issue contributed to an extended absence earlier this season. Barco missed 14 MLS matches in total, though most of that was for extended service with Argentina at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Barco has four goals and two assists in 13 league appearances (10 starts).
