Houston Dynamo defender A.J. DeLaGarza will miss the remainder of the 2019 season with a right foot fracture, the club announced Tuesday. He picked up the injury in the club's 1-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City over the weekend.
The recovery is expected to take 8-12 weeks and Chilean international Jose Bizama will likely see playing time at right back in DeLaGarza's place over the last part of the season.
DeLaGarza, 31, made 23 starts this season, his third with the club. He missed most of the 2018 season after tearing his ACL during the 2017 playoffs.
The veteran fullback won MLS Cup three times with the LA Galaxy and has made 261 MLS appearances throughout his career.
