LA Galaxy defender Robbie Rogers will miss approximately six weeks after undergoing ankle surgery on Monday, the club announced.
Rogers revealed on Instagram on Tuesday that he had surgery to repair the injury and would miss the Galaxy’s Pride Night against the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday (10:30 pm ET; MLS LIVE). Rogers came out prior to joining the Galaxy in 2013, and scored his first goal for LA on the Galaxy’s inaugural Pride Night last year.
Rogers has one goal in 12 regular season appearances this season.
Rogers threw out the first pitch at the LA Dodgers’ LGBT Pride Night earlier this month. The Galaxy produced a video highlighting his experience – check it out here.
