The finalists from the last two MLS Cups will meet Wednesday night at BMO Field (7:30 pm ET | FS1 - full TV & streaming info), but Toronto FC and the Seattle Sounders will each be missing vitally important contributors from their respective title runs.

On Tuesday, the Reds announced forward Jozy Altidore will miss 4-6 weeks after undergoing foot surgery to remove bone fragments. Then Wednesday morning the Sounders revealed midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro will sit for a second straight match with a fractured toe.

After contributing an incredible five goals and four assists in Toronto's 2016 postseason (one that ended in heartbreak at the hands of Seattle) it was Altidore's 67th-minute strike helped ensure the Reds would not suffer again in MLS Cup 2017.

When Seattle lifted the trophy a year prior, it was Lodeiro's midseason arrival that catapulted the Sounders into the postseason after a slow start. Once Lodeiro arrived in late July of 2016, Seattle picked up an average of 2.00 points per game in the last 14 matches of the regular season. Then the Uruguayan scored four playoff goals before the Sounders defeated the Reds in penalties in MLS Cup 2016.
