LAFC will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the season on Saturday as they take on the San Jose Earthquakes, who are themselves looking for their first win of the campaign (3:30 pm ET | Univision, Twitter in US; MLS LIVE on DAZN in Canada).
LAFC, however, will be missing two midfielders for the game, as The Los Angeles Times' Kevin Baxter on Thursday that both Lee Nguyen and Andre Horta have been ruled out.
Horta is coming off his first action of the 2019 season, as he started and played 78 minutes in LAFC's 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake on Saturday. Prior to that, the Portuguese Designated Player had been sidelined by an injury to begin the season.
Nguyen has missed the last two games, after starting the first two, helping to set the tone for the team in the middle of the park. After missing the trip to face NYCFC due to a hamstring issue two weeks ago, Nguyen was ruled out last week as well, but the team did not disclose the reason.
Mark-Anthony Kaye will likely return to the starting XI for LAFC after returning from international duty with Canada, while the other midfield slot could be filled by Latif Blessing, who has started the last two games there.
