United States national team midfielder Michael Bradley will undergo surgery Tuesday in New York to repair nerve damage in his foot, three days after Toronto FC's season officially came to a close without reaching the postseason.
A TFC spokesman told the Toronto Sun on Monday that Bradley will undergo the procedure after battling the issue throughout the season. He started 25 games in his first season with the Reds, scoring two goals and adding four assists.

It's unclear how long he will be sidelined following the surgery, but US Soccer have announced two upcoming international friendlies next month: Nov. 14 against Colombia in London and Nov. 18 against Ireland in Dublin.
The Sun also reported striker Jermain Defoe returned to England to continue treating his lingering groin injury. Defoe, who finished with 11 goals in 19 games, was ruled out prior to Toronto’s season finale Saturday, a 1-0 loss to the New England Revolution.
