The San Jose Earthquakes are now down two key players due to injury. After losing center back Clarence Goodson for two months to a toe injury, the club announced on Saturday that forward Steven Lenhart will miss four to six weeks after undergoing right knee surgery on Friday.
Lenhart had been experiencing nagging pain in the knee for several months. The burly target forward has only one goal in 10 games this season, bagging it on July 19 against New York. San Jose have gone away from their traditional "Bash Brothers" approach to scoring this season, with fellow target man Alan Gordon seeing fewer minutes.
The Quakes have been relying mostly on Chris Wondolowski and Yannick Djalo at forward in recent games.
San Jose are in action on Saturday night vs. Seattle at Levi's Stadium (10:30 pm ET, NBCSN, live stream on NBCSports.com, TSN2 in Canada).
